Just bought a '95 with 85k mi. and the change oil now is on even after I had the oil changed. Is there any way to reset it manually.

You have to reset the oil life monitor after you change the oil in your car, it does not do it on its own. Go to the drivers info center and set it to show the oil life left and then hold the reset button in until it resets. This is how I do it on my 97 and it should be the same for yours unless GM changed something.

Same on my 99 I think you push the engine button until the oil life comes on.

Mine is at 100% since I've owned the car like 6 months.

I have owned my 96 with 93K miles for 3 months, trans fluid reads 100% but will have it changed at the first of the year. I am changeing all the fluids and to reset the oil life you press and hold the reset button for 30 sec. that will reset.too 100%

Fram trans filter kit is $14.99, Dexron III is $6.99 when you buy the gallon jug. It takes you 90 minutes to drain, clean pan, change filters, and reseal. And that's taking it easy! A good idea to change it every 25k mi. Fresh fluid is critical to long life in an all electronic transaxle.

I actually think the DIC monitors the transmission fluid somehow. I don't know if it is temperature or maybe turbidity, but when I had troubles I drove several hundred miles in 2nd gear to get it home. The fluid life indicator went from 100% to 59% during that trip. My guess would be temperature, but it is just a guess.
I do know I burned up that fluid pretty bad. It SHOULD have been reading 0% IMHO if that thing knew what was good for the damn car.
