Buy some oval sets, they come in all sorts of degrees! They really help getting the certain, "Roundness", for lack of a better word. If you are talking about rims, then I might I suggest practice, It really can make a big difference!

I don't have much tips, I do agree is a pain on the a$$ sometime..

but what I will do is study a lots of car pics from magazine or whatever in different angles.. and try to learn it from there.

Practices make perfect :)

Hello,

This is the best I have found on the web. Wheels and tires are made of a series of ellipses. I can freehand ellipses but I also use ellipse tools. The trick I have found is to use the negitive spacing between the previous ellipse drawn. Draw the most outer ellipses then when drawing the next inner try to make the white space the same at various points of the ellipse.

Ok here is a good link on drawing ellipses

Take care.

Hey, I've seen that sight before! I hate it. It doesn't go into too much detail about cars, the wheels or the rims. Seeing as that's the object we're supposed to be drawing, it doesn't help much IMO...

its hard making those ellipses shit though, cause u gotta freehandly draw the curves. any tips on how to make it look rounder and more accurate?
