hey i have a 99 5 speed base model. i got borla exhaust, and high flow intake. im lookin to get some more horsepower so im thinkin about getting a supercharger. i looked at Thomas knight's superchargers and i was just wondering if anyone has any opinions on them. I looked at the one for about 3500, and i noticed they also sold an electric one for 2 grand. i was wondering if the electric one was an ad on, or a serperate supercharger all together. If they come as a package, about how much horsepower would i get. also would i have any problems with traction since its fwd. let me know if anyone has any experience or opinions about these mold
thanks
Justin

I originally looked at Knight systems but recently I've decided to go with another company. Probably RIPP Mods. Check on www.3si.org and search for it and you'll find some threads.
Electric S/C are crap almost all the time. That's why you see them so often on E-bay and they either don't sell or go for under a grand....they generally don't work. I know cost is a concern but I'd definantly say, go with the most complete kit offered. Seriously, most of them say they can run on stock engines but then, there is a reason they offer the other stuff. If I'm gonna run something like this on my car I want the most HP available and I want it to be as safe as possible. As far as traction goes, you're fwd, you know how easy it is to loose traction. Hell, if it's raining and I get on it too hard after a light I can spin em. LSDs are only offered for the DOHCs I beleive so there really isn't much you can do that I'm aware of. If you really want advice, I'd say get some other minor mods first like pulley and flywheel and a FULL exhaust (not sure but I'm guessing my Borla exhaust you just mean a cat-back) and maybe new plugs and wires, etc. If you have any more question just post them.

yea, the borla exhaust is cat-back. when you say "full" exhaust, what do you mean by that...downpipe, and cat back? have u spuercharged your stealth, or are going to?
is that why you said you looked at Thomas knight?(www.boosthead.com)
i agree, the electric superchargers on ebay are crap. but the one from Thomas knight looks different and alot better. They say to think of it like elecrtic NOS. its not belt driven, and doesnt run off the alternator, but it adds 75 horsepower garanteed, for 15 seconds at a time. it takes 1-5 minutes to recharge. maybe its just me, but this one looks alot better than those crappy ones on ebay...
