I have a '92 3.1 liter. I am deciding whether to put in a 305 or a 350. What do you think? What else would I need to change on my car? Can't spend too much money. Hopefully under 2 grand!
Thanks for any help!!!!!

I can tell you right now that you wont get it done for under 2k
well maybe close because going from a light V6 to a heavy V8 will require all new front shocks and springs new mounts new full exhaust new tranny and maybe a few things im missing
but go look up all those parts from summit or jegs and see how much your looking at
and plus the 305 is a waste of time for preformance vs the 350 because parts avalible for a 350 are endless
hopfully this has been some help

I agree as far as the 305 goes, even building them is not worth it from a peformance standpoint, definetly hold out for a 350.
As far as the swap, your best bet is to find a wrecked F-body with a 350 and pull the motor, mounts, ecu, and wiring harness.
You wont need to swap the tranny b/c the 92 3.1L came with a 700-R4, which bolts up and is capable of handling a decent amount of power. The exhaust probably will not change much, more than likely just the downpipes will need to be cut and new one fabbed up, any decent muffler shop should be able to do this for under $40.
Good luck, let me know if you need any help

the bellhousing will need to be changed. the v8's had a bigger one with one more bolt i think. i do know that you'll need to change it though.
