B18C1 Engine Swap/Auto-Man Conversion

This is my first post...So i'm new to the forum. I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX 2 Door 1.6L. Like others, I bought this car used and got a great deal on it as well, the only thing is...It's an automatic :banghead:
I was hearing about the auto/manual conversion or just doing a whole swap. I know this can very costly, so I just would like to know what type of price range I'm looking at( Either: The conversion, Or a B18C1 Swap- Is that a good swap?) Some feedback please....

The B18C1 is a very good swap, probably the most common for people with civics, great power. That's actually what I swapped into my teg. The motor usually costs around $3,000-$3,500. There's a place online, forgot where, but they'll ship it to your house for $3,300. If you're not very familiar with the whole car thing then you'll have to have a shop install it. That's gonna set you back some more bank. I would guess you're looking at close to $5,000 to have everything done to your car.

if you swap for a B18C1 you're going to have to convert to manual. No B18C engines came with an automatic and I'm not sure if an automatic tranny from a B18B would work. Good luck with whatever you go with.

EDIT: forget that BS up there I read your shit wrong. Go with the whole swap, you might as well if you are going to convert. If you're going to just convert, plan on paying around $1200-$2000. $5000 like Kicker said if you wanna swap and convert.

Thanks everyone for your info and recommendations. I'll probably go with the conversion since I'm putting on: AEM Short Ram Intake, DC Sports Headers, Apex'i N1 Cat Back Exhaust, Nology Hotwires....Etc. Oh yeah...Thanks for the warm welcome AF.

Since I'm probably going with the conversion, Is there a website or such of where I can purchase the parts that I need? If someone knows please refer me to it. Once parts are purchased I will probably get this work done here(if they do these) www.hybridynamics.com . Once again....Thanks

Okay....I browsed the Honda Performance FAQ about the conversion. I guess these are all the parts needed:
Manual Transmission, Clutch Master Cylinder, Clutch Slave Cylinder, Clutch Lines, Pedals, Shift Linkage, Manual Starter, Flywheel/Clutch, Front Console w/ Boot, Manual Transmission ECU, Transmission Mount, Front Transmission Bracket, Transmission/ Flywheel Bolts, Flywheel Cover, Shift Linkage Bolts. I guess thats it, but doesn't the gauge cluster need changed? Is there a website to buy all this, or do I have search all over the place for these parts. Just let me know, Thanks

you don't have to change out the gauge cluster. It'd be nice though if you don't have a tach.

Okay, I did some shopping around for the parts, haven't purchased them yet. But I did find a 2000 Civic Si Transmission w/ 30xxx miles and shift linkage as well. Would this be a good transmission to put in a 2000 Honda Civic Ex? This would only be 2 of the parts in the quest to convert to a manual transmission....Input please
