Hi I have a problem with my bonneville ..it just so hapens that everytime
I attemp to start the car it cranks but it would not turn on ,unless I tap my gas pedal 1 or 2 times, once it's on the car runs like a cream puff ,I asked a friend
of mines that knows a bit more than me ,and he thinks it might be the fuel pump..I think differently casue otherwise the car would shut off when it gets warmup/hot ...am I wrong ...any ideas as to what it can be?...also the service light does not come on nor does the car hesitates or shakes

This could be contributed to a few things, but i need to know some information first. What year is your bonneville? I know some of the Series II motors have a starting problem. Its due to when you shut the motor off, the computer shuts down before the motor accually stops moveing, which causes a laps in the timeing. it takes the first failed attempt for it to recatch itself before she will start up. That is the most common thing that happens to them. It is possible that it is the fuel pump, but what you should do is test the fuel pressure before you start it up in the morning, what im thinking is that your Fuel Pressure Regulator may be failing and allowing the loss of pressure in your fuel rail, this would also cause a failure at starting. usually in the Very early stages of regulator failure the car will run just fine, givin you no warning that it is failing once you get the thing started.

:banghead: Sorry new to this form, first one to help is you. Now to
your problem is a code 17,58 & 41 cam sensor error, anti-theft, & cam
sensor failure . My 92 Bonn. had the same simptoms that you mention
but I use a OBD I checker, your year uses a OBD II to verify you code conditions.Turns out the system was reading a bad crankshaft sensor.most of the repair shops miss this , the cost is $48 plus labor to install approx. 3 hrs. do if yourself will save you a lot. this one part solved all my problems. Note I have 120,000 mi whenthe problem cam up and 3 weeks to trouble shoot. Good Luck
