CF question

do i need to paint the surface of something i want to CF? or can i just apply the CF to the bare plastic? would that effect the overall look?
(the part i am talking about is the Revell ITR hood which is white)

I think paint with semi gloss black would do good

It is best to paint the surface semi-gloss black or a similar dark color as most c/f decals are semi-transparent and will be effected by the under-lying color.
I think white will give you an undesired effect.

I think gloss color is better so you can slide the decal to put it in place.
