Ok, I'll go first. I took my 92RS 305/5spd stock 170 HP and hooked it up. I now have over 400 HP. Bored and stroked...haha 335 stroker kit from enginekits.com torquer 305 heads from world products. Performer RPM intake 1in TBI spacer, injector spacer, and a 670cfm TBI unit from Holley. A huge radical cam from preditor cams, underdrive pullies, aluminum roller rockers. Underdrive pullies. Home built ram air. Be-cool radiator. Edelbrock TES exhaust system cut before the Y comes together. Custome 3 inch pipe all the way back over the axles to a set of flow master 40 series muffs. Custom burned chip from Jet powertech. Alluminum driveshaft, 3.73 gears. Bilstien shocks all around. Goodwrench Gforce T/A's all around. did I miss anything?? lol

Well, I just started modding this past summer and so far just a K&N, Hypertech Streetrunner chip, and 3" Flowmaster cat-back, I got the same Edlebrock headers you have, just not installed yet, plan on getting the same Holley TBI, 3.73, and Performer Intake Manifold.

I have to say, I am very disapointed in the turn out of this thread. Are there only three of us with third gen camaros?

I have a 1990 IROC-Z 350. I have a Custome Cat-Back exhaust with a High Flow Y pipe, 3.5 Inch all the way back and a Flowmaster Muffler. I'm not sure which series it is, Is there anyway to tell by looking at it? k&n's too (not like they really do anything) Anyways, I had a Jetchip in it but I just took it out last week cause I Put a plate NOS system in. I am currently just using the 100 shot jet. I'm not sure i want to push it and go with the 150 without some work to the internals first. Its fast as hell already. Seriously scared the shit out of me when I first sprayed. My buddy owns a shop called regulate here in Salt lake and they did the work for me. The install is hella clean. I was very impressed. Anyone In slc needs to go to regulate for all their performance needs. Its mostly an import shop, but they kicked ass on the IROC. This is the shitty part of it all. I own three cars between me and my fiance. I have my IROC and I have a 01 Z24 Cavy and my fiance has a 2003 civic. I dont drive the IROC daily. Since i have bought it, it has not seen rain or snow. So each day I either drive the Cavy or the civic to work. Let me tell you, i see 100s of mustangs on the days that I drive one of the Four cylinders but when i drive the IROC they are nowwhere to be found. I have only had the chance to run once since I had NOS put in. Unfortunately it was a fellow 350. I think it was a 97 ish vette, looked like about the first year they went to c5. Lets just say he was stunned that a 90 Camaro pulled on him from start to finish. It was tight. It scared the hell out of me though. I think we were doing about 125 when i stopped. I hit the brakes then i looked down and saw 120 so i had to have been doing more than that. I never would have belived it unless i saw it with my own eyes.......a 90 IROC spanking a c5. Tell me what you think about that.....

Hi Guys, I havent had my car dyno tested yet. I put the 150 jets in and it was noticably stronger. I intend to get over to phantom soon. They have a dyno, then I'll test it without shooting, with 100 and with 150 and I'll see. All I can say about the power is Holy Shit.......Its the fastest damn car Ive ever sat in. With 150 shot the hp should be 400 and hopefully my exhaust system pushes it just over 400. Thats not to the ground of coarse.

Hi guys. I just purchased my 92 Camaro last week. I have always wanted that exact car.... a 92 Camaro. My wife said I could get one so I found one in excellent condition. I do not know everything that has been done to it because the last owner didnt know. I am going to have to just take a look and see what I can find. What I do know about it is:
It has at least a 305 in it.
It is a 5 speed manual (I wouldnt take one any other way)
It has flowmaster exhaust.
People keep saying they think there is a body kit on it. What is the default distance between the ground and the center of the front bumper on the 92 Camaro? If anyone knows let me know. Mine seems to be pretty low. I will post pics soon.
BTW: It is a 92 RS.

A body kit? I don't know of a body kit for the 92's. I know there's one for the 82-84. But if it is a kit, let me know I want to check it out.

Here is a pic I took today.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/501/122871Camaro92RS-med.JPG
It is not the greatest pic. Anything that looks like a dent or scratch is a defect in the picture. The body on this thing is pretty much perfect. I will wash it and take a better pic soon.

Ah, that's stock dude. Sweet heritage addition. But yeah, that's no body kit that's how they rolled of the line. 305TBI 5spd. How much did you pick it up for??
Hyper_Eye

I picked it up for 3200. Kind of funny story goes along with that. They wanted 3500 though. They had it repainted to match factory and had a few other things done.

It runs great. There are only a few things and I am told these are common with Camaros.
1) The fuel guage is off. If it hits 1/4 tank it is empty.
2) There is a popping/scraping if the steering wheel is turned all the way. I am told this is a common power steering problem with Camaros.
That's it as far as driving. It drives great. The engine sounds great, the steering feels great. The gears transition smoothly. The clutch is a little heavy but I can deal with it. The only other things that are wrong with it are:
1) It is missing the knob for the heater/air fan. I figure this will be easy to find.
2) There is a slat missing in one of the vents. No big deal.
3) A small section of the headliner has come down and they had it tacked up. I will glue it back up there and it will be no big deal.
The car came with some real nice seat covers and the interior looks excellent. The outside has no problems whatsoever except for where the paint is cracked a little close to the bottom on the front of the car (cause by scraping I am sure.) None of the paint has come off but you can see it webbing a bit.
As I said I do not know what if any modifications have been done but a friend of mine listened to it and said it sounds like no 305 he has ever heard. Then he drove it and said it dosn't drive like any 305 he has ever driven. He thinks something has been modified to give it as much power as it has. The only thing's I am aware of are the flowmasters and the catalytic converter.
If I was to get just one modification what would you recommend?
BTW: I didn't think there was a body kit. I was pretty sure it was stock. The pics on that auction sure look sweet though.

Well you can get a 305 to sound like a 350, mine did when I first got it. they had a little pep, but not much. The flow masters would help a bit. What was done to the cat? High flow? The one mod I would do is to go to pep boys and get the thermomaster chip and a 160 degree thermostat. You'll notice a difference, trust me. But if you want to know what motor you have you can look at the RPO on the underside of your console cover,it should read LO3, if it doesn't, then you just became my best friend. LOL Also, incase there has been a motor transplant, get to digin in there and pull some numbers off your motor and have your local machine shop run them.

They just took the cat off. In Alabama they dont require vehicle inspection so I am not worried about getting into any trouble for it. If I was still in Texas then I would worry about it. But... knowing that it is not legal I am trying to decide what I want to do about it.
I will check out that RPO and let you know.

There is nothing under the console cover. It is completely blank. So I guess I will get the numbers off the block.

hey hyper, nice buy, sweet ride for the price. as far as the gas guage, thats not normal, probly a faulty sending unit or something. should problly look into it. as far as the ground effects, yeah they stock. as far as the build code, its not on the underside of the console cover lid, its down in the glove box compartment. its a white sticker covered in three diget codes, and the VIN of the car it was put in. if it aint there, id be worried. but you should be able to go to the local chevy dealerships part counter and have them run the VIN and get a list of build codes. just as good.

Hey Iroc, have you ever heard of that fuel gauge problem before? Because I have the same problem. I was thinking the sending unit, but didn't want to go through that hassle.
Hyper_Eye
12-16-2003, 01:19 AM
I was told it would be in the glove box but the reason I didn't look there is simple... I don't have one. Now... I don't know if that is normal or not but it looks normal to me. There is no sign that it was removed. All I have is the center console.

I just got a title report from carfax.com:
http://www.carfax.com/cfm/FSBO.cfm?report=CFX000005485786
I am not in the report because I haven't registered it yet. I just got my revised insurance papers in today (called and had it added to my insurance as soon as I got it home.) You can't register in Alabama until you have proof of insurance. I will register it sometime this week :)

That is a pretty nice Camaro for 3200. I paid 5,000 for my 1990 IROC-Z. It had 85,000 on it. I would go as far as to say that there are very very few with cleaner interiors than mine. Every thing is functional, I do have that same popping noise in the front when i turn hard right...what the hell is that. Runs hella strong. Not one complaint other than the pop. I am the GM of Carstar Ogden, so I painted it and did all the body work. It is cherry. Im in it about 7,000 total. Thats with body, paint, new weather striping and moldings, new water pump coolant flush, tranny flush, 150 shot NOS, and Custom Cat back exhaust. I know there were cheaper ones out there but i feel like I really got a good one :naughty: tell me what you brothas think about it. Think I got a good one????????
