Radio/CD Display

I'm really hoping someone catches this question quickly enough! Ford Enthusiasts, I am at your mercy...
I am about to buy a 1998 Explorer Sport. Everything about it seems great, but the factory radio display doesn't seem to work. Its a AM/FM/Tape/CD RDS setup. All the buttons light up, but the display for radio stations, etc. does not.
Has anyone seen this before? I would love to think its just a fuse, but my gut is telling me different. There is no user manual with the truck, but I'm hearing there is no fuse/wiring diagram provided with them anyway.
I realize this isn't the end all/be all - but I would still prefer to know what radio station I am listening to (and knowing what time it is is also helpful...)
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Time to have it repaired or replaced. Go to E-Bay and type Ford CD in the search box. You have choices...get replacement or have it repaired. There is a company back east, New Jersey from my recollection that repairs for <$100.00 thats listed in E-Bay. Don't forget to order "Ford Radio Tool" via E-Bay search also to remove radio if it has the DIN holes. It'll make sense after you go to E-Bay.

I had the same problem with my wifes Mountaineer. It is in the radio face power supply.
www.shareamemory.com/radio Check this site out. If your handy with a soldering pen. I paid the 20 bucks fixed my wifes and fixed someone elses for 45 dollars so I'm 25 to the good and there holding up.
