Shh...Don't Tell Security!

Hello Everyone! I'm here, curled up on my bed, with my head resting on one knee as I type to you. Yes. I am bored. I catch a plane tomorrow afternoon to fly home, out of Portland, but until then, I am here on campus alone. And, I'm here against school policy. Apparently, when finals are over...everyone is supposed to go home. Wow, what a concept. :) But I had to schedule my flight for Monday and so, I have been informed that if security finds me, I might be faced with quite a bit of a reprimand and a potential fine. So...I'm officially in hiding. Which means that my lights are on low. I'm making very little noise. I'm not going downstairs to cook anything to eat (I'm subsisting on a few Hershey's Kisses and a banana). Now, I've made it a bit easier on myself as I didn't wake up until 1:30pm. I haven't made it out of my pjs yet (I know, but I'm entitled to a lazy day occasionally). And I haven't started to pack yet. But this is all besides the point of this thread. I'm in a dilemma. I'm officially in hiding, but "Titanic" is on tonight and I'm desperate for some company, even if I find that company in fictional characters who die in the end. Now, there was a guy who advertised for company on Student News tonight, our school's email system. I have thought about joining him for a cup of Chai tonight, just to be friendly, but seeing as how my hair is still messed up, I'm still in my pjs and I'd have to walk half a mile to the nearest cafe, I'm thinking....no.

So, back to my dilemma. I want to watch "Titanic", but the TV is in the lounge and the longue is a large room with windows everywhere. I'm on the third floor...the lounge is on the first and I know that security will be out quite a bit tonight. If they see the TV on, I would be busted. Now, I should be packing right now (I was ordered to do so by someone...ahem...;) ) But...oh well, the movie is more enticing. ;) So...any suggestions on how to get down there and watch the movie without being caught and facing the wrath of three or four men in their 40s who walk around as if they are God's gift to campus? (Note: I've had run-ins with security before...so future run-ins should be avoided at all costs). So...help a poor girl out. :right:

Sit in front of the TV and put a big blanket over you and the TV.

Just go and enjoy the t.v If the security jerks come to hassle you, just slip em a $10, and they will get lost.

Tell em to go and stop some real crimes, and leave you alone.

Jay my dear...let's get something straight...Jewlery means jack shit. Especially jewlery like the so-called "Heart of the Ocean". Now, I could be mean and say that if the world revolved around the principle of things being worth their weight in gold, then the necklace of immense proportions portrayed in the movie, would be worth far more than your family jewels. :( Bummer, huh? Oh well. I'm not that cruel and vindictive. :right:

(Clearing throat)....ahem...Now, as for you Mr. Towlie. I realize that your insecurity of not being able to find a girl who can put up with your magnificent thugness is slowly deteriorating your self-confidence. This in turn is causing you to lash out in a variety of ways, such as your assholish comment above. :D While I recognize the sarcastic humor of your statement, I'd like to remind you that (1) I am a girl. (2) I don't enjoy staring at naked women as you do nightly with a towel and a Playboy. (3) The greatest part of that scene is the trust she places in her soon to be lover as she makes herself extremely vulnerable in her position. The appeal of the movie is the romantic intensity of a doomed relationship...let's face it, peeling your lover's lifeless and frozen hands off of you isn't the greatest end to a movie, but damn, if the journey isn't worth it for those few passionate and intimate moments.

Now Mr. Towlie, I have already instructed you to chop off your dick tonight (please reference Stress Release "3am")...I fear you are slowly submerging yourself into the second circle of Hell...Cheerio my dear friend! :D :flipa:

You poor bastard. ;)

Its good to see a Girl take some control in here and stick up for herself, and done with such a delicate and humorus touch.

Now, it really does sound like you might have to miss Titanic tonight, the risk possibly out weighs the reward. Wait till you get home, rent the video, and Im sure theres someone who would be happy to keep you company while you watch it.

Hello Everyone. Yes, I'm back home now. A bit shaken, very bruised, but at least I'm still vertical, which as at least one of you is aware of, is an improvement over this morning. How much to tell? Better question; how much do I remember?

I woke up late, so I quickly threw some clothes on, gathered up my bags and headed out the door. No shower. No breakfast. No time to sit and wake up. Unfortunately, by the time I had woken up and walked out the door, there was no way I was going to be able to make it to my ride in time. Realizing this, and starting not to feel quite right, I had enough sense to drop off my bags at my office in Admission. I vaguely remember telling the secretary that I would be back shortly. I could hardly see straight as I walked across campus to the nearest phone. Inside the building I tried to call Information looking for a number to a taxicab service, but could hardly dial the phone let alone stay standing. I remember sitting down, completely drained of color, on the floor and thinking that if I stood up, I felt as if I was going to pass out. At this point, the room started spinning, but I knew that I needed some cash, so I shakily stood up and headed to the nearby ATM. The last thing I remember was punching in the amount I wanted to withdraw and watching the money come out. After that, the next thing I remember is waking up between the ATM and the wall, on the floor. Thinking to myself, "I have no idea where I am", I pushed myself up and off the floor, and stood up, leaned against the ATM and decided that something wasn't right with me and that I needed to sit down. A study lounge was only five feet away. The lights were off, and as campus was closed, there was no one around. I don't believe I made it three steps before I fainted again. This time, I woke up a few minutes later and noticed that the money I had just withdrawn was scattered around me. I gathered everything up and crawled onto the couch where I sat there in the darkness listening to the sound of voices in the distance. After I felt that I could stand up again, I made my way across campus, back to my room, and immediately stepped into the shower. Since the world was still spinning, I sat down and just let the water pour over me. When I crawled out of the shower, I wrapped the towel around me, and I remember heading to my bed, laying down and trying desperately to get ahold of someone to talk to as I was shaking so badly. When I did, they calmed me down, helped me relax, told me to get something to eat, and then attempted to get in touch with Kris to tell him what was going on.

Eventually, I was able to stand up long enough to get dressed and meet a taxicab downstairs, pick up my bags, and make it to the airport on time. The day thereafter went much better. I stayed vertical and conscious! The flight went well, although we hit a bit of turbulence. But, apparently, when I fainted I hit my head on the way down, and possibly cracked the bridge of my nose. My shoulder is badly bruised, and overall, I still can't shake this groggy feeling and I've been walking around in a daze all day.

I can guarantee you that I will be lectured about this for days to come, possibly even months, and will be watched carefully. Including the fact that my mother is insisting that I don't drive to a party tonight on the opposite side of town.

So, I made it. Barely.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I apparently needed them. :)

Dante: Dang, I'm sorry to hear about your misfortunes of the day! It is good to see that you did make it home in one semi-solid piece, though!

On an off-note: Am I the only girl who finds "Titanic" to be sorrowfully disappointing? I honestly don't like the portrayal of history given(and that is outside my giant disliking of L. DiCaprio himself).
