Different GTP Models

There are GTP's without sunroof?? Today I view one!!!... :screwy: How many GTP models are?... Mine has Sliding Sunroof, black leather, electric driver seat, etc, etc...

I can't speak about other years but, in '02 the sunroof was a $795 option. It didn't come standard.

Well I am not sure, mine is a Sedan 98 and does not have one. And is leather interior, alloy whells and GTP

sorry for the garbled response. Mine is a 98 sedan, Delco Bose 12 speaker system, Leather interior, power everything and does not have any kind of opening on the roof(Damn I would love to have a moon roof)

It was an option on the GTPs (or any GP model for that matter).

where'd you purchase the heads up display unit. i am looking for one for my GT

My '97 GTP has Power sliding sunroof, Delco performance 8-speaker sound system with 12-disc CD changer, leather seats, heated driver seat, power driver seat, polished aluminum wheels, head up display, remote keyless entry, power windows & door locks, pretty much every avaliable factory option. The only ones I wish I could change are the leather seats (I stick to them in the summer!) and the 12-disc CD changer. (Too much trouble).

You'll have to find a HUD from a GP for your car. It requires some wiring. There are many people over at www.clubgp.com that have done it already..including one member from my local club.

I agree, I think you must get the wiring harness from a car that has the display then install it in your car.(The one that has the HUD pigtail)
Basically that is pretty much it because your car already has the information that is going to be displayed.
This piece of wiring can be expensive.
Unless you do it yourself(I am the bolt on kind)

My friend has a 97 GTP without sunroof, no leather seats and no HUD... the car has 3.8 SC Engine. Is a genuine GTP?... im confused... i think the GTP has all the options

Well, to my understanding GTP has some kind od luxury. But depending on what the owner has money for. I feel that the ones that did not came with any premium features where built to feed the enthusiast that did not had money for the cream but enough to get performance

my 98 gtp is a model called the gold edition,forest green (exterior),gold wheels,gold medalions,taupe (interior),cd/tape equalizer with 8 speakers, gold pinstriping,autoheadlights,chrom.rear view mirror,auto door locks & alarm system.. no hud,leather..all for $ 21,850 not bad for a factory performance vehicle..

I bought my heads up display off ebay for $85.00 the only thing that was hard to install it was cutting my dash for the heads up display unit to fit through it. What sucked when i was doing it I managed to cut(more like chop) my pinky finger I chipped the bone.... but i continued to finish it took me about 3 hours to do..... you cant even tell It didnt come with the car. The wiring harness is already there. you just have to dig around for the one for the switch to adjust it. Make sure you get the switch to if your gonna buy one or else it wont work. And The next thing I want to add to my car is Leather seats (Black) for a 4-door

it wasnt that bad, only 9 stiches 3 which were under the nail (those three hurt) and I did mess up a little on the dash when i cut my finger, but the overlay piece covers it (i got lucky). That was 2 months ago now... there little feeling at the tip too

It is my understanding that the only thing common on all GTP's is the turbo?? My 99 GTP has everything except for the Bose speaker upgrade.

I beleave that in 97 all grand prixs were either GT or SE and the GTP was just and option for the GT that you chose at the time you bought the car. So your friend who owns the 97 original owner prolly only chose to have the SC engine and nothing else to save costs.

all gtps facotry gtps are Supercharged not turbo rocketboy.

My 97 GT has just about every option (sunroof, HUD,etc., etc) the only thing it does not have is leather or the bose stereo or the engine block heater.

Also i think in 99 and in one other year i dont remember, you could get a GTP inb gulf blue and becuase i think gulf blue only came in the special editions or pace car grand prixs not sure what one though.

what are you asking for kilroypr? Take a pic of the dash the cut on the dash or what? If its the dash... It came out like it came from the factory. You cant even tell at all seriously. Unless you take the overlay piece off then it looks like a mess (the piece that covers the HUD).
