Hi Folks!
We have a Calais that won't go into gear. i've changed the Fluid and filter (it was perfectly clean) and then the car won't go out of FIRST gear. We drove it and drove it and Shifted like crazy and finally it popped out of first and everything was fine. It ran perfect. After a while...about 2000 miles the problem of not going into gear resurfaced again. It goes into REV the first time, everytime, but not in any FWD gear. It takes about 5 minutes of reving the engine for it to finally migrate into gear.
We sure could use some advice...The car has 200,000 mile and is in good shape, burns or leaks no oil. It has a TH125C transmission. The dipstick is rusting away too, where can I find one?

Needs an overhaul kit , about 650 bucks for a shop to do it.
