Who has AC on their Metro? I am trying to figure out the vacuum hose routing and neither the Haynes nor Chiltons is any help. Can someone look under their hood and explain the vacuum hose routing for the AC VSV solenoid?
I'm working on a 93 3 cyl Metro and can't seem to find the "idle speed VSV" valve.
The repair manual shows it as attached to the firewall next to the coil. It is shown as a vacuum solenoid with two large vacuum hoses attached and a large spring loaded adjustment screw.
My car has NO such thing. BUT...it has something kinda similar.
I have a mystery vacuum valve which has a threaded end, a large vacuum hose fitting, two small vaccum fittings and a large spring loaded adjustmet screw.
There is also a vacuum solenoid on the firewall which has two wires and three small vacuum fitting. There are two hoses coming from this solenoid that appear to match up with the two small vaccum fittings on the mystery vacuum valve. The third vacuum fitting on the firewall solenoid I can't trace to anything.
When I bought the car all this stuff was either disconnected or "rigged" wrong. I'll try posting some pictures.
