Sheit it's quite here. Everyone better be working on their cars. :D
My S2000 should be done in a couple days, I put the last coat of black on the body and I'll give it a final rubbing and shine before I do the final body prep (painting the trim, etc) I hope to have it done before I go to my ma's for x-mas on thursday.
What's everyone else working on?

Unfortunately, a PC I built on Thursday is giving us trouble!
It wouldn't run with 133mhz FSB enabled, so I couldn't get all the power out the chip! The RAM won't run at the 133mhx it's supposed to, and now it won't boot at all!
It also corrupted Windows when we tried to run with Optimised settings in the BIOS!
So I know what I'll be doing tomorrow! Rebuild!
No modelling for me this week!:(

In the absence of a UK distributor for Castrol Super Clean, I've been forced to resort to wet & dry to remove a bad paint job on my Loctite-Zexel Nismo.
I'm always worried about losing detail when I have to sand-down this much, but I'm happy to report that this time, I may have got away with it.
A little more, and I'll be ready to try again! (phew).
So, me? I'm back into building (or rather, painting) this one.

So you get to see my progress on the RX-7 and S2000. :p
Tada! Here they are with bodies freshly painted, S2000 in final coat of black and RX-7 with fresh clear coat. Both need to be cut, polished and detailed.

RX-7 with cheezy 'hand-painted' interior. It (interior) looks like ass but I can't be arsed to do it over.

Why does Taymiya only seem to make curbside kits now? If I was to do this again I'd put a lot more detail in the motor. As it stands I think I'll rip off the strut tower brace and paint it a different color. What was I thinking?

..now where was I? Oh yeah.
Dan isn't the only one who can do leather! :D I used the regular glossy red with a mix of 'flat base' for the seats. I think it turned out quite well. Dare I say better than Dans?:uhoh:

ACK! That compressed like crap! You'll have to take my word for it, the seats look the biz! :D
However note how glossy the paint is on side? It's not even polished yet. :)

Side shot. Dan is right the S2000 does sit a bit high in the front. I get a little nervous even thinking of 'lowering' a kit myself.

My buddies very first model. The WRX STi. He painted the interior in glossy colors before I could stop him. He couldn't be arsed to fix it. Too excited to start putting it together. Did a pretty good job. :D

Looks like you hae a nice job by the pics you posted.
As for what i'm doing........I'm taking a week or two off to catch up on all the things that need doing before xmas etc.
It's school holidays now so i have not got the time to sit down as the kids are always saying.."come on dad....lets go and play"

I'm working on the Sierra RS500, got the body painted and am in desperate need of cutting compound! :(
I'm also waiting for the air-brush to be custom-built for me. It's not going to be before Christmas... Its (ghetto) design will blow you away! (no pun intended). So I pretty much have no way of doing any modelling - I tried brush painting suspension with acrylic paint, and I'll be damned if I ever try something like that again! :)
Oh, and a friend of mine is coming from Finland tomorrow with a nice selection of paint! Weeeee!!!!! :):):)

Well I was sanding and rubbing the S2k today to get rid of the orange peal. However while I was getting excellent results I managed to sand down to primer on 3 areas. :(
Not happy I'm going to respray it black and against Dan's recommendations (no clear on non-metallic colors) I'll give it a coat or two of clear. :p
I found on the RX-7 which had a layber of clear it was easier to tell when I got too excited on the sanding. Bacially if color shows you're going too far. :D
