Ok, I know this doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out, but I don't want to fuck up my T.A. and I'm a ditzy blonde:confused: I have a 94 T.A. :1zhelp: Does anyone know exactly how to use the transmission perfom button and what it does???(yes, I know you push the button) :dunno: I don't really know what it does, so I leave it alone.:headshake: people try to tell me what it's for and does, but I get alot of mixed answers from them, :chair:so perhaps another bird owner will know! Thanks!!:smooch:

Transmission performance button? you mean like toyota puts in there cars? Are you sure you are not talking about the TCS button by any chance, if so then this is your Traction Control System, so when you slam on the gas you wont lose control of the vehicle due to tire spin. Go ahead and try it out, just in a straight line take it off and punch it, you,ll probably put on quite a smoke show. Then turn it on and try it again, once the tires start spinning the computer takes fuel away from the engine even if you still have it pinned to the floor, once you regain traction then it lets you have control of the gas once again. Hope this helps a lil.

I have that in my 94 formula and I'm pretty sure that when depressed it switches to different shift settings for the transmission. It gives firmer shifts and may change the shift point a little. It's basically to be used under heavy acceleration. You don't really wanna drive around with it all the time. Just for when your going to be embarassing a mustang owner :iceslolan

Elroy is right it gives you firmer shifts. When you press the button the computer switches to a different program that gives you the firmer shifts.
With the button pressed the engine will rev up higher before it shifts. The car will also not go into overdrive with the button pressed. Next time before you get on the freeway press the button as you get up to speed you will hear and feel the car rev higher and respond faster but it will not switch to overdrive. Press the button to deactivate it and you will see your rpms drop and feel the car 'smooth' out. Don't drive it like this on the highway alot as your gas mileage will go to hell. It's just a little feature that they put in and only in 94-95 cars. Camaros have built in their computer also but they don't have the button. You need about $2 worth of parts to get it to work in a camaro.
