Hi all, I am considering buying a pocket logger for my 2G gst. I noticed that it doesnt log "Knock". My question is that is there a correllation between timing and knock? Could I tell how many degrees of knock there are by my timing slowing down? If there is a correllation what is it? Thanks in advance.
BTW is there any other way to monitor knock other than listening for it?

No datalogger for 2g (OBD2) can log knock. Its just not an available parameter. DSMlink is the exception, because they changed the code. there is a correlation between timing and knock, absolutely. This is the essence of tuning a 2g. See the tuning guide "sticky" on RKO (in my sig) for a description of what to look for. There is some 2g info there. In summary, on a one gear pull (typically 3rd) from 2-3k rpm to redline, you want timing to fall to no less than 8-10 degrees, and will climb to over 18-20 degrees. With arger injectors and no knock its not uncommon to hit 25 degrees of timing. (Larger njectors lower the airflow signal to the ECU (to cmpensate) and the ECU is then more givig with timing).
