I've just purchased a 99 Blazer 4DR 4WD. It appears to be in great shape and it starts, runs and drives very nicely. It's got 120k on the odometer. I took it on a 1300 mile road trip the weekend I got it and I had no problems. Although things look good right now, I wonder if there are any preventive maintenace steps that I might take in order to extend the life of the vehicle.
How can I tell if I need new shocks? The vehicle rides fine but they don't look very new.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

If it still has the Dex-cool anti-freeze in it then get it flushed out!!!! It will gum up the whole cooling system. There are posts all over the net about it.

120k? You're just breaking it in! But as stated before, do a rad flush and replace, also do a tune up and replace tranny, rear diff, transfercase, front diff fluids... Cap, rotor, plugs, 02 sensors, fuel filter, PCV... If you don't have an exact history on the car, it's probably best you do this before you do run into problems... Preventitive maintenance is the key to the long life of any car...
