Been working on this for about 3 weeks so far. Got the front bumper (Thanks tonioseven for supplying it) molded on, and the sideskirts done. The rear of the side looks a little weird since its not all the same color. Im going to try and put as much detail as I can into it, but not motor :sly: Paint ideas are Candy lime green with black hood and roof. Ill be using the Vienna krisis rims. Ill try and keep you updated.

Candy Lime Green, so far my favourite Tamiya color, its a nice color, but when you use different color primers, it makes it a completely different car, i would suggest useing grey primer, it will make the color a tad darker and a bit richer, which will complement the black hood/roof thing, when you use white primer with it, it comes out and will burn your retina's if you look to closely, deffinatly a good color choice :sunglasse

You've got a really nice and clean looking body setup there, and the Vienna Krisis wheels look surprisingly good. And candy lime green will indeed look stellar. I've never seen a green Sil-Eighty.

Though, whatever will become of those bad@ss looking deep dish five spokes at the back of the car in the first picture? I think those things are too sweet. Got all four?

Those rims came with the Drift series FC3S kit I got a year ago. Im not
sure what the name of them is. I have all 4, but I cut the centers out
of two of them in order to make some deep dish watanabes, but failed,
so am working on some R32 centers in them, which seem to fit well. Just
need to sand it out and assemble it.

I think the trueno looks good, who makes this kit?? I love the silver 5spoke rear rims, are your fronts from the ITR revell kit? IMHO, If you had some of the 5spoke rims from the revell kit, they'd match up better with the rears, but it's truely up to you.

They look choice. As for colour I'd say go for hard core drift look, front wheels gold with silver lip and rear gunmeatal with silver lip.
Just a suggestion.

Thanks.. No, they're from the Rx7 fc3s drift series kit. Gold fronts and dark rears was another combo I was thinking of doing. I might have to do it that way now.

86 SR5- No, theyre not from the revell itr kit, they came with the fujimi sil80 kit. The revell rims are shitty so I dont think ill be using them.

After painting them gold and black, I was'nt crazy about it so did them
both black. I'll just do a double progress thread with the trueno and the
sil80, so I dont need to make 2 different threads which is pointless in my
opinion. Heres some photos of the rims, Next Ill be painting the body.
Stay tuned. As for the nissan, I still didnt make any progress besides
rounding the side skirts in the back to fix the boxy problem.

The Trueno looks cool, but I think you mounted the front spoiler a bit low, I might of done mine wrong but I am pretty sure the number plate wont fit in yours. (not that it really matters :p)

May I suggest opening up the front grills? I sanded out all the plastic behind the grill to make it look open, but the grill ended up breaking half way through it, so I fully cut out both of the grills and replaced them with stretched sprue. I don't have any pictures as the batteries in the camera ran out, but I will try and get some soon.

After seeing yours I was thinking of opening the grille and putting some
mesh in. I might do that. I have a question about yours. How did you get
your Trueno sign on the front bumper done so cleanly? It looks pretty
tuff since the letters are so close together. Any tips ?

It's pretty basic. Cut the headlight out on the body. Cut it clean because
you'll need to use it again. The headlamp part comes with the kit, to use
for pop up lights. Get that part, and glue them in the space where you
cut the lights out, but as low as you want the "sleepy" look to be. Then
get the top part you cut out and place over the lamps. Thats the way I
would do it, not sure if thats the way gunluv did it.

Thanks, that's the exact look I want. Can't wait to get it so I can start on it. You all call it sleepy, I call it ''loaded'', because the car looks like it just popped 8 muscle relaxers heh-heh. thanks again for the info.
Just to clarify this will be done on a 8-6.

Got the black bumpers and hood on the trueno. I have a few bits of
advice from experience for two tone painting. One, dont use the last of
the roll of tamiya tape, and always clear coat the body to seal the tape
edges before painting the black on. I used the last of the roll on the
front and rear, and on the front I got a ton of bleed through on the
hood. Of course it was ok since I painted the hood black too, but I
would be screwed if I didnt. I then used a fresh roll of tape, and some
clear coat to seal it on the hood, and it came out nice a clean. Anyway,
heres the pictures. Just have to paint the blinker or w/e it is next to the
headlight.
