i'm looking to get me some DSL access (Xmas present) and i'm wondering(for those of you with DSL) 1)who is your provider 2)where do you live? 3) how's service? & 4)what are your prices?(if you don't mind).
Verizon's not available in this area yet.
thanks and maybe we'll catch a couple xbox live games in the future.

I dont personally use DSL, but i found some sites for you , that may help you out with that you want.
http://www.1800fastdsl.com/
http://www.2wire.com/links/areacode
http://www.dsl-service-dsl-providers.info/
http://www.dsl-provider.net/

any reason why you want dsl specifically? a friend of mine has pac bell dsl and it sucks. first off, he's so far away from the center, he only gets about 40k/s. another friend of mine has at&t/comcast cable and he can get up to 100k/s. for a couple years now ive had sprint broadband... and by far its the best ive seen. downloading from such things as irc ive gotten 200k/s and if i have multiple dl's, it doesnt share bandwidth. if i open up more links to download, it only adds up. ive gotten a combined rate of almost 800k/s. and im only paying $40/month. but then again, it all depends on where you are.

I've got adelphia cable in my apartment...i get pretty kick ass service (sometimes 300 kb/s) and we change the names on our bill so it ends up being $19.95 a month ;)
the parents have pacbell dsl and it is very fast as well. they pay $40.

not really. i don't know much about cable modems/service though.

we have t3 at my school. Earthlink was one of the first places i looked but they don't have service in my area. Verizon doesn't have service here either according to their web page but i put my name on a notification list and they emailed me today saying it's available. i have a feeling it'll be like strodda said, I'm far away from the sevice box so it'll be weak service.
I'm not particular about what kinda service. i just can't afford satellite, other than that i'm open to whatever for around $35-$45/mo. i'm just sick of dial-up.

well if verizon is the only thing you can get, you may as well go for it. cause of distance, you might not get the best service... but it will definetly be better than dialup.
