Has anybody heard of people taking their EGR assemblies off their trucks?. For people who havnt heard of EGR, it takes some of your exhaust gasses and runs it back through your intake manifold through your engine for emission reasons. Has anybody heard of people deleting these assemblies???

I have taken these off of my truck. I just made plates to cover up the holes in the throttle body and the manifold. It isn't much of a performance gain, but its a nice free mod you can do.

Have you taken an emissions test since then? If so did you pass? ha.

Luckily, where I live, we don't have the emissions tests to worry about. :naughty:

If I'm not mistaken, they removed the egr for the 2002 and up. I know for sure the 03s don't have it.

Yep, phoenix is right. It's the only 5.3L to get both the cast-aluminum motor and cast-aluminum heads together.
