whats up guys I was reading on dsmtalk and they were discussing the evo8 internals being forged including the crank the ? I have is I have a buddy stationed in england who can get an evo block for about $200 for me and I was wondering if the internals on the evo8 would fit the 2g gs-t. I know that 532whp has been made on the new evo8 with stock internals and stock intake etc etc. a guy on thier said he saw the evo internals and they looked the same size if the 2g can handle 450whp then you forge that can you imagine the protection lol. thanks

532 on stock internals seems hard to believe. The Evo8 does have forged pistons....but the rods and the crank on both motors are forged. The evo8 motor is diffrent to the point it cost too much to even think about a swap. I mean JE pistons and Crower rods and you have internals that can handle just about anything. Not to mention alot cheaper than an engine swap.

Everyone seems to forget the EVO4 and up motors all spin the wrong way for turbo dSMs. ;) As suggested above, it would be better to jus tupgrade the current block or go to a built or stock 6 bolt. Stock 6 bolts do over 500 whp stock as well. The evo8 for 200 would be nice, if it was possible. :)

I think you guys mis understod me. I didnt say I could get the motor for 200 I can get the internals as in crank, rod, and pistons for 200. I was just going to use the rods if possible since they are forged I saw pics of the 2g rods wow are they thin or what the 1gs are pretty beefy though.later

as far as that 532whp thats what a couple of the guys on dsmtalk were saying. I do know that pruven racing made 463whp @ 22.5psi. it used an hks 3037,272 cams, rmr intake,3inch exhaust,660cc injectors,PWR radiator, works rally reflashed ecu, greddy e-manage,exedy twin-disk clutch. not to shabby, it ran a [email protected] mph. Note the PWR radiator. thats all just fyi. the possible internal parts swap was just a crazy idea I concockted lol.later

As long as the bore and stroke of the motors are the same, and the crank journal size, deck height is the same, etc, then yes it will work. As far as I now its all the same, but I'm not the expert in that area. But again, stock 6 bolt rod and either generation DSM piston have all een proven to over 500 whp as well. The EVO stuff may be even better though, just drawing the comparison there. Continue to look into it, good luck :)
BTW, I was in ohio when they made that 11.6 pass. Looked good.

well hell 500whp is well over my goal lol so if the 6 bolt was rated thier then thats almost to much lol but in a good way. The evo internals in an eclipse would be somthing worth looking into depending on the price. I'm gonna give it another look just to see what I can come up with check the price to product ratio etc etc.thanks again

I can tell you it's not going to be cost effective. Any good company can custom make you rods, pistons , and a crank to any spec you want. there is really nothing all that special about the bottom end internals except for the fact that they are forged. If you really really really must have bottom end stuff made for an EVO look at JUN racing.
Now on the other hand the valvetrain maybe something to look into. Hollow camshafts and nitrium or sodium filled exhaust valves would be exspenive but should help.

hmmmmmm :naughty: lol. the only reason I thought of it was becuase if the internals are all the same excepth the evos are forged and they fit then I could replace mine with those instead of aftermarket ya dig. It'snot becuase thier evo just that they forged and might be cheaper but I dont know becuase I havnt found a site that sells stock evo internals but like I said I have a friend stationed in england that can get an evo block for cheap at a junkyard he knows of. like I said it was just a money saving Idea I had nothing I was hell bent on you know. but I appreciate all the advice as usual thanks.
