Does anyone have any actual figures on the difference it makes to a
P11 SR20DE with the Catalytic Converter removed ?
I removed it from my P10 eGT & found it would rev more freely
& less hesitation low down, but thats just how it felt.
Anyone know the facts ??? George ????

I don't know for sure if someone has tested the SR20DE or not, but Sport Compact Car tested the KA24DE with and without the cat. It actually lost 1 hp and (IIRC) had the same torque w/o the cat.

giving off like a million billion times as much crap into the air for 3hp or so isn't the nicest thing to do..

Turbo it :). Then you'll have a non-cat excuse.

I would still keep the cat.

IMO, Not really worth the time and effort.
My cat is removed.
I noticed slight power loss, but it wound out faster.
When I run my Nitrous, it works well.

Do you run with a cat on the street and just not at the track? or no cat all the time?
Also, FWIW i'd run a cat all the time, regardless of tune, just because I couldn't stand that blatty ass noise that cars make without a cat. Or at least the ones i've heard.

You might have a clogged cat then. You can get high flow ones for a pretty good price now days.
