People that hate microsoft

Where would we be w/o them, better off, not even close. The probably would be no such thing a a PC computer, we'd all be using macs right now. There probably wouldn't be a linux or any other OS. Cause if it wasn't for microsoft and Dos IBM would have probably never had gotten off the ground. Of course microsoft makes mistakes and I bet there is no other system which is error free either. Also we wouldn't have such programs today as Motocross madness, midtown Madness, Word, Visual Basic. C++ language, Power poin,t excel or any other office programs. So think next time about shitting on Microsoft, cause just think about where you could be.

Microsoft is what it is. A super company, the Juggernaut. It's like something out of a movie, where one company controls everything. That's what Microsoft is.

I don't hate Microsoft, I just hate Windows. And Word. And Internet Explorer. And...................

No, we probably wouldn't have PC's, but I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. With the funding Microsoft gets going to Apple (If there were no PC's), Mac's would be so darn good. They already are better...I've never seen one crash, and they are just as user friendly. All games and other programs would also have been developed with Mac in mind, too, so you wouldn't have to worry about lack of programs for the Mac.

DOS was good, as was 3.1. Stability should NEVER be sacrificed for user friendliness.

i think microsoft has gotten better with there products, i have win 98, office 2000, and ie5.5 and i never have any problems that i would consider a disaster like i used to get with win 95 and 3.1. my pc right now does everything that i need it to do. oh wait, microsoft is too expensive though that's one thing i hate about them

I sad to see how fast some people forgot what gates did:( Shure in an economy class there's hard to find a better example how to do it, but as I'm not a pure capitalist I hate him for what he did. Selling a Software with so many bugs isn't acceptable. Think about it if it was a game with so many bugs it wouldn't have an chance. IBM lost the race in releasing theire OS 'cause they removed a lot more bugs before the release. I can't wait the day the Gates Empire will be crushed by freemarket!

I agree!!!

It's just like Carver's program in 007 - Tomorrow Never Dies.

"...full of bugs so people will be forced to upgrade for years..."

That's what Gates did. Pissant.

Micorsot's problem is that they have a monoploy (no matter what tehy try to say) and therefore no longer have to be competitive. Thats why they make such crappy software now. And i hope to hell that their X-Box fails badly, just so tehy can lose.

BTW, Gate stole the idea for Windows from Apple. So don't give him credit for that.

haha b-boogie you gotta admit though..if it wasnt for microsoft we may not be sitting here on this forum right now....or the technology would not be nearly as great..they make some great software and games...but....windows can sure piss ya off

I wouldn't go as far as saying he stole the idea. The first GUI was done by Xerox, then Apple did it, then Microsoft made a GUI. It was bound to happen anyway.

I think that Microsoft is a monopoly but, If it wasn't for Microsoft, I would have grown up in a different world. I recently had windows 3.1 and then only last year did We get a new computer with windows ME. I still prefer Win 98 which is what I'm runnng right now. Didn't Microsoft get broken up under certain conditions?

I hope the X-Box beats the piss out of the PS2 and any other gaming systems. I havn't yet played a game on the PS2 that has better graphics than my computer or as close. The ATV game is pretty good which is as good as my computer and that ESPN snowboarding game was as good as my computer. BUt ihavn't seen anything better yet. Or anything that would make me want to run out and buy one.

X-Box shall die (for preventing the release on time of HALO on PC and other games). If you want good graphics then care for you PC. No console will beat the never ending upgrades for PCs. for fast fun gaming consoles always win cause they don't need any installlation.:bandit:

Microsoft took advantage of the market it was presented itself with. People steal ideas all the time. The Apple from Xerox example is accurate. Why do you think there is more then one major auto manufacturer? IBM, SUN, Microsoft are the some of the big software vendors and they aren't going anywhere for a long long time.

Hoping the X-box fails - what a near sighted and bitter thought. I hope its a great success. The more players in the market, the lower the prices will drop. PS2's will drop dramatically in price once the X-box hits the shelves. The features and available games will also be improved. Wanting the company to fail means either you have a competing product or you're just jelous that you are incapable of being successful in your own eyes.

Voice your disdain if you want, its your perogative. But, it does make you look like a fool.

Both Microsoft AND Apple stole the GUI idea from Xerox.

Now how does Xerox feel. They spent lots of money to create a research center to develop new stuff. Well, their engineers came up with some amazing stuff, but some bigwigs behind a desk somewhere said, "We're THE Paper Company, stop playing with those computers"
Sucks to be you Xerox..:flipa: A few billion bucks down the tubes...:finger: Ha ha, I hope you corporate bastards are still alive to see how big a mistake you made!

No matter where you go you will find those who lack vision and prefer instead to stand back and blame others for the negatives in the world. I'm sure some people (you know who you are) blame Bill Gates for AIDS, War in the Middle East, Natural disasters, whatever. Bill and Melinda Gates have given more money to help world causes than most of us will see in a lifetime. Would I like to be Bill Gates? HELL YES! You're an idiot if you don't want to be the richest man in the world. Do I envy Bill Gates? No. How would you like to be someone who succeeds at what he goes out to do and becomes the "best at what he does" and have people compare you to the devil?! Gee did Bill go out and slaughter millions of children to become a dictator of a small country?!

Want to talk about a "monopoly"?! What the hell do you call AOL?! If you are using a PC, running Windows whatever watching any of the Turner TV stations, AOL is your ISP (or you use AOLIM), and pay taxes to the US Government. How many "monopolies" are you a part of?

If you have never met a person in real life you have no right to judge them, but part of Free speech means we have to listen to every idiot with a chip on their shoulder complain about how someone is the devil cause they did something you don't like. Hey, there are people on this forum that own and drive Skylines, but do I hate them for it? No I say "Good for them and I hope one day I too will own one and we can all get together on a race track somwhere in the near future". So don't blame someone else for doing what they want, succedes, has more money than you, etc. Its just that simple. It's life just live it. :flipa:

Anyone else want to get on this soapbox :flash:

I have to give credit to Bill Gates and Microsoft for bringing the PC into the homes of millions of Americans and many more around the world. Without the introduction windows and ambition that microsoft had, I don't think we would be as far as we are today. Then again, no one knows what would have happen had it happened a different way. I think that many improvements can be made on microsoft's products, but that is how things evolve...right? Overall, I guess microsoft did a good job, but they made their OS way to user friendly in sacrafice for stability. I'm positive you can do both, you don't need to compromise, they just don't need to set unrealistic release dates, and make sure their product is what it should be.

What's shitty it's the companys philosophy. It's like one of the banks here in Switzerland my friend's working at. Unless you're a millionaire they treat you like shit! :bandit:
