tranny crazy

hey all i just got me a 1989 honda prelude Si birthday gift from mom lol it looks cool and all but the tranny is screwed up its an automatic when its cold it will shift but it tacks up to like 5 1/2 grand before it shifts each time but then the car warms up u have to manually shift from first to second.... this tranny has the S3 S4 thing on it and the S3 light always flashes any recomendations on whats wrong thanks for the time :)

Bring it in to a Honda Tech! lol. Tranny problems are very tricky sometimes. It might just be a hydraulic problem. Maybe your shift control solenoid.
