The Purple Metallic Color

In '98 (I believe), Pontiac stopped producing the Purple Metallic colored cars. I heard because of a "problem w/ the color"...anyone know what that problem could be? Am I wrong? Did they stop producing it at all? Anyway, input or advice on that color would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm not really sure..My neighbor own a Trans Am..and a Body shop.. he painted his car themettalic purple..the piant was expensive, that i know.. but he did his like the Mystic Cobra.. it chages color at angles .. it goes from the blueish purple to a purple burgandy.. it seemed a bit "ghetto" at first then he placed new rims tinted the car and then it grew on you
