Black SiR, after the stoplight turned green both of us jumped right off. First gear we're almost even, then shift to second and it was by-by SiR. I'm not sure what his mods are, aside from his muffler, since this was in a relatively moderate traffic. SiRs here have detuned B16s, which in stock is 160hp. I'll assume he's stock, though. Mine's a PH16, a variant of the D16 engine. Oh yeah, having a new lightened flywheel helped a lot. :iceslolan

I live here in the Philippines. Funny that Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) would detune the cars they sell (well, it goes for other car manufacturers here anyway), since the thinking is that the market is much more for economy, when ironically many are modifying or even making engine swaps. Just a little OT--the manufacturers have now realized this and Mitsubishi has released the Evo VIII here (last Evo that came out of dealers here was the Evo V or VI, though importation of Evo was still being done by enthusiasts), and Nissan has just shown the new Fairlady Z. Rumour has it that Toyota will launch the Celica here, and Mazda is not too far behind. Hopefully HCPI gets the hint and get the S2000 or even a Civic Type R released in their dealers here. Okay, back to topic...

Difference between the PH16 and JDM D16, as far as I know, is that the stock PH16 is 125hp. I'm not sure what exact D16 model is this comparable with, though, but those I talked with say that the one it is modeled after has 140hp. The difference between the SiR here and the JDM one likes on the ECU, so the SiR sold here has lower hp.

I thought SiR's were the non-USDM Si's and had 170hp?

So only the jdm b16 is 170, and the Canadian etc. SiR's are 160. Why does Japan get all the cool shit :(

I think so. I am not exactly sure what D16 engine it is, just that the PH16 is a variant of a D16 engine.

congratulations on the kill.

to add on to what was said...the SiR's in the philippines are 4dr sedans. i dont think they sell them in coupes or hatchbacks. i dont know what the reason for honda philippines detuning the Si-R is, but still...its an Si-R. :)

That's right--the SiR here is a sedan, not coupe or hatchback. HCPI here has not even released any coupe yet, and the only hatchback that came out was the EG one with the measly PH12 engine.
