1996 Oil Light problems

Help, I have a 1996 cherokee 4cy. I recently had problems with the oil pressure light coming on. I took it to a shop and they looked at the oil pump and said it was fine. Upon changing the oil the light discontinued coming on so I assumed all was fine.

2 day's ago I got my oil changed. Have driven to work which was over 60miles total there and back. No problems.

When I started to drive out of town today the oil light came on and wouldn't go away. Barley made it home, with all the noise that it was making. :( Hope I didn't hurt it too bad. Can anyone help? Not sure what the deal is.

check the oil presser sending unit it is usualy located near the oil filter. it could be malfunctioning or cloged. hope this helps
