performance modifications

I have a 4cylinder 96 Probe SE. I am interested in making my car faster, NOT for racing, just to give my car more get up and go. The reading I have been doing has led me to enhancing my intake system, and a new exhaust system(catback?) Can anyone explain to me what modifications I need to make to make my car faster. A website of where I can buy these parts would be great too.

basic answer for yea would be more air and fuel = more power. there for a intake would give u more air, so that means more power. get it?
