I have been looking for an extra set of wheels for my '96 E 320 on e-bay. What is the stock offset for this car's wheels and what are acceptable non-stock offsets? Would S 500 wheels work? There are many listed for sale.

Offset information is stamped on the back of your rim. You may be able to slide under the rear of your car (or take the rim and tire off) and find a stamping of "ET__" (this is your offset in mm). A 96 E320 should be a ET44, but check to make sure. A generic spacer and lug kit will take care of wide differences in offset.

Ameden - check with Luke at the Tirerack (www.tirerack.com) if you're not sure, and make sure you use hubcentric spacers (puts vehicle weight on hubs, not bolts).

The stock wheels are 41 offset (7 1/2 x 16) all the way around. Be careful there are a lot of wheels from other classes that don't fit!!
