97 blazer not starting

when key is in on position in blazer, fuel pump does not come on and the lights in the dash board does not come on. the radio comes on. also with key in on position i cannot move car out of park. does anyone know what causes this?

I had the exact same problem a month ago. Turned out to be the ignition switch. About 130$ at the dealer. Not too hard to change. (contacts inside were burnt) I managed to get it home by hot wiring it.
