Just a quick question...

How many of you (Especially GT and GTP owners) consider your GP a sports car? And if you do, do you even consider the 4-door GP's sports cars? I know my insurance company considers them mid-size family cars (Hence my $45/month insurance :naughty: )

My curiosity is getting the best of me, I had to ask.

I'd call it a "sporty sedan".

I would agree that is a family car. Thanks lord for all the pep I get from it and the insurance premium is low. :)

I think I'd have to call it a Sport Sedan too. Although I refer to mine as the "Grocery Getter From Hell."

According to my insurance company it's a sports car....thus I pay sports car like insurance payements :eek7:

Carnut, I love the sig. It's so appropriate, especially for the 4-door GTP's.

And I've had 2 GP's--a '94 SE Coupe, and a '97 GTP sedan...my insurance on my '94 SE was the same as the insurance on my '97 GTP. Both cars were listed as mid-size family cars on our insurance policy...

Personally, I think if a Nissan Maxima can be called a 4-door sports car, the GP's can too, especially GT's and GTP's. And the 2-door GP's can really be called sports cars.

Well, I really respect your opinion. But if you look at cars that are considered sport cars like the Mustang, Transam and the like. They are not pratical cars. The rear seating is unreal. Tremendous power in a tight package. Sport cars usually are not nimble. Our cars on the other hand are really docile when compared to what is supposed to be a sports car even tought they might have tremendous power

I traded a Bonneville in when I bought the GTP. My insurance only went up like $30 every six months. I was surprised that it wasn't more to go from a normally aspirated car to a supercharged car.

Before the Bonneville I drove a Porsche. Trust me, you should be thrilled that your insurance company don't consider our cars to be performance or sports cars. Your rates would a whole lot higher.
