serious starter problem please help

ok my starter went out in my 1990 civic std manuel with a 4 speed tranny my question is will a starter from a si tranny fit on my car or is it all diffrent sizes and stuff

I don't have access to my shop manuals right now, but I'm willing to bet that there's no difference in the flywheels. They're all D-series motors, so it shouldn't matter.
Your only other concern would be the way the starter mounts to the tranny casing... Again, I seriously doubt it would be any different. Matter of fact, I'd bet $$$ it's not. The SOHC D-series all have the same mounts for motor and tranny - even if the trannys have different gearing (ie. DX, std, Si) the case is still the same...

so go ahead and try to put it in then i mean io have the other starter but i dont want to start to do it then have to stop cause the diffrence but thanks
