mazda 323 door beep

i have this annoying "eeeeeeeeeeeeeee" noise, not unlike a left-your-lights-on sound in older cars, that will engage every time the driver or passenger door is opened. it shuts off when the doors are closed and if i remove the room (dome light) fuse.
any ideas how i can either fix it or rip it out without hurting the rest of the circuit?

it's a GTX if that matters...

it must be something to do with leaving your keys in the ignition. my car has a jacked up switch, i think, making it think the key is still in the tumbler when it isn't. hopefully a little lube will do the trick.
