hi i live in canada and i was planning on buying a 240sx, the problem is that i don't have alot of cash, i can afford a sohc 240 but not the 91 and up ones, when i decided i was going to purchse a 91 240(which was a while ago) they were fairly inexpensive, but now they seem to me to be overpriced thats just suck cuz shouldn't the price go down??. anyways i am asking if getting the sohc 240sx worth it or should i wait until i have enough money to buy a 91 one?? i just want a nice fun rwd car to speed around in, i probably won't do any mods soon i just want to drop it and get some wheels and maybe a lip thats it ,but i also want good stock proformance. so what do u guys think the cheaper price of the sohc is worth it over the more expensive dohc??? i am asking here cuz this is a 240 forum and i am assuming u guys have this car???thanks

I'm saying if the SOHC is significantly cheaper than the DOHC, I'd go for it. -Unless you think that you'll come up with more cash soon.

well for a good condition running 89 240 id say around 3000 to 4000 and for a good condition 91 their around 5000 to 6000(maybe high 4000) so the difference in price is i would say 1 to 2 grand...

I prefer the 89-90 front bumper "pignose" and seats. The 89-90 is a little lighter and has a little less hp & tq. I ended up with a 89. ;-)

youre nuts man.
anybody that pays 5-6 grand on an s13 is an idiot.
hell, anyone that pays a flat 4 grand is a bit off their boat.
and i wouldnt even think about buying a SOHC s13 for more than 2,500
i hope youre listing your prices in yen or theres something wrong with you. you could get suckered in to a sale easily....come to think of it...wanna buy my s14? only $20,000...

Being in Canada may have something to do with the pricing.?

Get the SOHC. If you plan on swapping the engine, what would the difference be? People have been known to swap Ka24Es INTO 510s and tune the hell outta them N/A. Both the DOHC and SOHC take turbos pretty well and its arguable that the SOHC is better because of its higher compression... or something like that. Only significant differences would be exterior looks, a few options like lsd/hicas/sun roof/shit like that being easier to find... and money.
