okay,
"There are several ways to actuate 6-ports electronically. And its very cheap. All you need is a pressure source (air pump, etc), a solenoid, and a signal thats rpm activated."
- J-Rat
I woud appreciate it if you could give some detailed instructions on this, and maybe some more general information on its application, also I was getting ready to set up an exhaust system and seeing as I cant afford all of the components of a commercial one and the local law enforcement in my area would grin if they saw no emissions controls before they even thought of it maybe being a ticketable offense I was going to manufacture my own with just straight pipes. I heard that 2 inches was best for an rx7, but I dont remember where and cant find the website again so I wanted to see what everyone else thought first.
Also does anyone know the specific volume of gas that is in ignited during combustion?

Are you planning on retaining the ACV? Or is all of the system going? That would determine they type of system we would need to set up.

Yeah, im removing the whole system

Hmmm..that complicates things a wee bit. There are several ways to accomplish this, but without a source of pressure (ie the air pump), it pretty much becomes impossible. Unless you want to rig like a GM air pump, and a switch (RPM activated, of course).

okay so it would probably be best if i left the air pump connected?

Or you going to have to either remove the 6p sleeves or wire them open. Either option isnt necessarily what I would consider to be conducive to good low end characteristics.

Ok..my turn.
How difficult would it be to make an electric motor drivin 6 port actaution syatem, which was RPM dependat, i.e. it *starts* opening the 6 ports at 3800 and finishes at 4500 (about, iirc) like it's supposed to?

OK having had non working actuators I think the best solutionis a pair of zip ties and just wiring the two bastards open. You'll loose a little low end torque at low RPM but what the hell just give it some more gas.
