electronic cooling fans

I have an '89 3/4 ton suburban w/ a 454...I would like to dump the clutch fan and go with dual electric cooling fans. Does anyone have any experience with this good or bad??? I'd like some opinions please also has anyone installed a tachometer since this year did not come with one?

I'm using aux fan on '89 5.7 for R12 A/C adder. Why would you want to put elec fans on 454??? You racing? I wouldn't do it. Your fan isn't robbing enough HP to hurt a 454 especcially with 3/4 ton driveline. Dual Electric fans of any quality are going to eat your batteries and alternators on a regular basis. For tach hook up... does your truck have the coil seperate from the distributor cap?
