I would say you could, but the only thing it would be is an 11 second car, not street legal.
Check out some books on Honda/Acura performance - they will tell you every thing you need to know.

most likely.......
car : crx hf ( very light shell )
stripped interior and p/s and a/c off... and strip everything that is unnessecary
engine swap: b18c w/ lsd
turbo kit with dyno tuning
drag radials......
result: high 11's to mid 12's maybe..
maybe mid 12's to low 13's with a 4th gen civic with b18c turbo setup above...... just a guess....
a good portion of it is the driver though...

umm why not spend cash on hookers your being spending more then 11secs there. Yea i bet it can be done no street leagal maybe 15-20k for street legal 11sec 1/4 car.
but built CRV-(tec) b18b/c turbo lots of PSI gut STD civic or HF rex best to start. slicks roll cage etc. If you can do work your self i'll 90% say it can be done for less then 10k(not much).

Or you could do it with a stock internal Z6, just takes a turbo and like 16psi
302whp stock Z6? (http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/259508)

Add another con to that list... I remember a slight problem with fieros bursting into flames for some reason...I could be wrong...??? Something with the exhaust pipe and the gas tank and a poor design..??
I'd go H all the way.... but I am biased... And I don't feel the need for my car to pull 11 sec. It's quick enough for me (at least for what I have into it at the moment)
But hell, if I had a spare 10 g's to blow.. I might think about it...
Good luck!

Problems catching on fire... fuel system problems... transmission problems... problems overheating...
A friend of my dad's has one that he'd bought brand new, and he said it's never run reliably, and now it just sits in his back yard rotting away as it should be.
As was said before though, 10k goes a long way... longer than you think. Unless someone else does the work for you. For instance, if I was your installer, I could probably get you going 11seconds for 5k, but I'd charge you the extra 5k to do it.

come to think of it, i saw and LSVTEC turbo EG hatch running high 12s... 11s would be pretty tough, but with a sleeved b series and forged internals, about 20psi should do it

The fiero fire problem has been resolved, and it was not because of the exhaust system or fuel tank.
They only held 2qts of oil, some of the lines were mis routed, and heatshields forgotten. There may also have been a problem with the con-rods, but I'm not sure on that. The recall fixes the fire and overheating problems. My room mate at college has 2 fieros. The transmissions (manual anyway) are very tough pieces.
To build an 11 second street car you need only 3 things, traction, power, and low weight.
Traction bars are now mandatory, as are really good drag radials.
That SOHC proved 300whp will do it, with lots of traction. Since you can't run slicks on the street, assume you need like 350+whp.
350+ whp out of a D16 isn't so tough:
Exospeed Stage 4 block: $2700 (could be done cheaper)
1. ARIAS Racing Pistons
2. Piston rings
3. Eagle performance rods
4. RS custom sleeved block
Exospeed Stage 4 head: $2000 (could be done WAY cheaper)
1)Square Port heads, 3 angle valve job
2) new seals, resurface and hot tank
3) ISKY valvesprings and titanium retainers
4) Stainless steel valves
5) Exospeed Race cam of your choice
MaxRev kit: $2950 (could also be way cheaper and better)
1) .63AR Upgrade
2) 3 in. diameter downpipe
3) -T3 Super 60
Thermal 3" exhaust: $500
TurboEDIT+Tunning:$500
Jimfab traction bars: $500
That should net close to 400whp if you crank the boost way up, notice I used packages because I'm too lazy to write out the best parts you could use. Everything up there (well, almost) could be done cheaper and better if you pieced it together your self.

I have a setup sitting in the shop, right now, that if put into a hatch, will put you into the 11's, and can be daily driven.
In fact, it ran 11.7 last summer in a EG hatch. It is running on stock internals, running 8lbs of boost. Build the bottom end up, and you will be that much quicker.

the trannys are tough and it can be made to run 11's for under 10 grand... 300 hp motor, 100 shot of the juice

I have posted about this guy steve in the past he is running close to mid 12 sec. with a bone stock z6 and running a greddy turbo with apexi boost controlled high boost is around 15 psi. He has put around 25,000 miles on this and still runs close to the mid 12 sec 1/4 mile. If he were to beef up the motor, rods, pistons, port and polish, and crank. He could Get in to the 11s at around the same boost all this for way under 10 grand and relible for everyday use. The total cost with turbo, machine work, parts, and motor is around 3200 at least this is what I have into my z6 thats going into my car the first part of january. Everything above is done to my new motor.

if i wanted full dash, door pannels, and a back seat, but gutted the hatch area... is that enuff weight loss?
obviously no spare, no tools, no AC or power steering...
is this enuff weight loss? i could run a 300 hp D16 all beefed and turboed... i guess even 12 seconds will be good enuff... and then a 100 shot of spray...
hmm.. so many decisions

steve's car is not too gutter he has all the dash in when he runs he does take out his rear stock seat and the pass. seat and the door panels but everything else is in (no spare, jack, or rear plastic) but it looks very normal when he is not racing.

Spray is pointless on a turbo car unless you need to spool the turbo. You might as well just get a boost controller with a scramble function or a 2 step electronic boost controller. Cheaper and you never have to refil a bottle (which you also don't have to carry).
