:banghead: Hello to all.I am a recent owner of a 95 ssei that i bought for my stepson.Great, clean, oneowner ride. When we bought it the temp and oil pressure would max out after it was started and then they would eventually come down to the proper position.Mechanic ran codes and he replaced a temp and pressure switch and it still has the problem. He was told by a auto electric place that the cluster has the problem and that it must be removed and sent off for repair. If someone can please give me some direction would be great. Will send pictures soon(it's a good one).

I'm not sure, but I think this may be a normal condition. When first starting engine, selected gages in instrument cluster deflect to full scale. I think this is part of a start up (initializing) routine run by the processor that handles the inst. cluster. It's really more of a gimick than anything else. Looks cool. When I start my Bonneville, the voltmeter, fuel meter, coolant temp, oil pressure all deflect full scale then return to normal indicating range. Hope this helps a little.

I'm with MARKWB on this one, my 94 does the exact same thing, I have read that this is normal, but all of the gauges should sweep to full, then down then to their current reading, not just a couple.
