Alright, I know automatics are better drag strip bracket racing, but how about acceleration between the 4 speed auto and 6 speed manual? any difference?

well the six speed came with a better gear ratio than the auto. so naturally that would make it accelerate a tad bit faster. But all you gotta do is change the gears and there you go...

Well, a good auto with a shift kit is a force to be reckoned with. It depends on the car. Drag racers prefer them because of their consistency and strength. A properly built auto can and will outrun a manual. It really depends on the race though. Sticks are better for street and road race, but for acceleration, autos are great.

I'm an auto guy, so I might be a bit biased, but generally speaking they are much more consistent for drag racing.
Manuals put more to the ground, but autos can usually make that ground up on the shifts...
On a road course a manual usually owns, on a drag strip, an auto usually owns, but for the most part, no matter where you are, it'll come down to the driver of the manual. If they are shitty, you'll win with an auto. If the manual driver is really good, he has a good chance to win, but his winning will not be consistent, as he may sometimes make small errors which would give the auto the edge.
It all comes down to personal preference.
