Temperature gauge is not working. Just stays at the vey bottom.
Where is the connector for the temperature gauge on my engine? (98 civic ex, d16y8)

I really can't help you, but I think the thermometer may be busted or your gauge is just stuck/not plugged in..? Your thermo is right above the tranny somewhere on the block. Well if somebody answers you we may both learn something..

Also one other thing I've noticed...it does move a little...when I start the car it comes up like 1 cm. but that's it. Hye do you think you can get me a picture of where the connector is on the engine?

At idle, a 4-banger honda will take 10-15 minutes to heat up to "normal operating temp".

There is a coolant temp. guage sender located directly under the distributor housing. There are also thermosensors/switch & a coolant temp sensor located on the back/side of engine.

These aren't from the correct engine, but will give you an idea of the placement. www.helminc.com for a manual.
