Hi all. There seems to be alot of anti-ricer sentiment around, but it seems most people's arguments go back to the ricer attitude and all the junk they seem to talk. Believe me I've had my fill of it. After the FandF movies came out, the import craze has been going wild in my area. I can't hardly go for a drive in my Z saturday night without some civic or something trying to get me to race which when I usually refuse they want to talk a bunch of junk saying I'm scared I'll get beat ect. ect. These people bother me but not as bad asanother group I refer to as the TYD. "Thank You Daddy!" Now I'm not here to say it's wrong for parents to buy their children a car, but I believe it is wrong for those people to talk down to others with a "lesser" car. By the time I was 18 I'd bought and payed for, with my own money, a 1994 V6 camaro and a 1994 Z28 both with less than 80,000 miles on them. The v6 for daily driving and the Z the weekends and such. But at the college I go to there are several people, who drive LS1 camaros, that want to tell me how crappy my lowly LT-1 car is. Now these people, I know for a fact, their parents bought their cars for them and paid for any mods that are on the 2 cars that had some. This iritates to crap out of me because to me it's the same thing as the ricers, just they have nice cars now. I would understand this sort of junk talk from someone who'd paid for everything on their car, but in my experience that usually doesnt happen. But anyway here is my question at last, Does it make a difference whether someone has bought their car themselves or am I just being anal? Thanks and sorry for the long post.

Why care about what others think, most people are tools at one time or another. Let them be. Just be content in yourself, and what you've got. You'll have alot more fun that way.

Z-Almighty, I agree for the most part, they can be damn annoying, but until they prove it at the race track "legally" what they say is a bunch of hot air.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I agree with you BlkCamaroSS, I love my cars and am very happy with them. It just gets annoying when these people want to throw around a few words like "manifold" ect like they're some sorta big gear heads or something and want to talk down to everyone. And as for the specific people I'm talking about proving anything at the track, let's just say I've embarassed a few of them :)
The power difference between the lt-1 and the ls-1 isn't that much to make up for from my end, plus when the other person can't drive it makes it that much easier to beat em. Anyways, thanks again for the replies.
