Clear tail light(?altezza?) question

I bought a set of the clear/altezza light whatever you called them for my girls car and i wanted to know if anyone else out there has the same problem as me. They do fit in perfectly but the rear light plug things are really loose they don't lock in their place and also it seems like i have to cut and make one of the wires longer cuz it won't reach for the fit on the clear tails. Has anyone had this problem?
i'm a probe man and i'm tying to pimp out my girls car so i don't know anything about these newer corolla and i almost forgot it's a 2001 Corolla

i put them on my 2000 corolla and had no problem at all. but it may depend on which style you have if you have the originall style which has that clear center with the red ring around it. I dont know about them. i have the style that has the 2 round red lenses on the right side and the and the inside is the back up light and a red reflector which i think is a much better style than the original style. it was a little loose when i installed it but not bad. they all stayed and i had no problems with any wired being to short.
