Actually, it is a GTI R32........ BUT, GTI=Golf=GTI=R32:2cents:

Actually, I had heard it was to be called just "Golf R32" because VW didn't want to associate it with the GTI. Also, because in Europe it is available as a 5 door hatchback.

So, I checked my sources, and guess what? VW has now also dropped the "Golf" part for the US market.

So, I stand corrected. The European version is officially the " VW Golf R32" and the US version is just the "VW R32"...
