Now's a question about suspension. What is the best suspension for an Acura Integra 99??? I wanna lower the car about 1,5" - 2,0" from stock height... With the BodyKit, I don't need to lower it more than that. To give you some tips about what I'm doing with the car: drag, autocross... I don't know a lot about wheels and suspensions. I think I focused a 'lil bit too much on the engine so, what should I get??? Plz tell me evrything I need to know about suspension and other parts in relation with it. Thx guys

I really dont feel like answering that again . . . .I'd say read some of the threads in this forum about your same question or search. Then ask questions. Start with a book called How to Make Your Car Handle, since you want so much information.

:) Come on body... I won't play these 'lil kiddy game here. This is a forum. All questions are good...depending on who reads it. You don't like what you see? Jump on another topic and that's all... Nobody is forcing you to answer this. If each time you see a topic you don't like and you go telling poeple negative stuff, well I'm wondering what your doing here... I'm not telling that you suck and that you don't know anything on the subject...'coz you probably know a lot about cars and thats great... The only problem is that you act like the forum was all yours when doing such things so... Just open your mind and realise what FORUM stands for...Discussion between poeple on a given subject.

Your question is one of the most frequently asked questions - whats the best suspension? There is no best suspension, if there was racing teams wouldn't spend millions on suspension engineering/set up.

I'm not trying to be mean its just that all the answers you need are in other threads(search function) and in that book. There is no way I can sit here and type 100 pages( or more ) on suspnension & every thing you need to know.

The best option is fully adjustable coilovers or Koni yellow shocks & some H&R, Neuspeed, or Eibach springs.

I probably didnt write my question the right way... In fact my question is: What are the components of a suspension??? Coil Spring, etc...??? I don't know the name of the parts concerned in suspension and wheels. Thats my weak point...I suck real bad... I dont wanna know the best brand name of suspension, it's useless when you don't know how it works first. I only need the name of the parts. Thx

I think you just confused your question even more. First you ask what's the best suspension, and now you're asking what all the components of a suspension system are. I'll refer you to www.howstuffworks.com That should explain about how suspension systems work.

What is the question you'd really like answered here?

I will just say though, how you have the car set for drag, is COMPLETELY opposite from how you'd have it set up for auto-X type racing. You'll either want to start saving your $$$ right now for a full coilover suspension setup such as Tein, A'PEXi, JIC, etc... because that's about the only system or set up that will accomidate either racing type, and even then, you'll still be lacking in handling for each. You have to decide if you want a setup for drag racing, or auto-X racing, because you won't be able to accomidate both without lots of $$$, and unlimited access to a garage to swap out springs so you can adjust spring rates with stiffer springs from front to back, depending on what kind of driving you're setting it up for. Hope that helps you out some.

You say that I confused my question and your right... As I told you before, I suck bad on this part of the car so... How can I be really clear at all??? :) When I ask what was the best suspension, I thought somebody would tell me the parts needed to build a good suspension...Well it was more confusing than I thought and I'm sry about it. But thx for the effort of understanding my point... You helped me a lot with this guys

For my money I would go for some Tein Flex Dampers and ad EDFC. Full coilover setup and 16 way ajustable (from the driver seat). Not to mention ride height as well. www.tein.com
But first you should really check out some of the references above and learn how this stuff works and then ask about brands and setups.

Flex? For money you want to go with SS. Cheaper than Flex, still 16-way adjustable, and they are better suited for agressive handling than the Flex is. All you're paying extra for with Flex is the teflon coating on the threading, and the convenience of being full lenght adjustable. IMO, not worth the extra $$$ just for those 2 added features. And yes EDFC is nice, but again it just makes the package not worth it in comparison. You're talking a good $600 price differance between the 2 set ups. $500 differance at best if you really know where to get them from.
