Corolla Troubles. Any help would be appreciated.

Are there any quick tricks to reading a CEL code on a 93 Corolla with a 7A-FE motor? There's a few tricks I have to read my cars, but my mother's car is having troubles and I'm trying to get this pig happy while I'm visiting her. Some vacation, so far I've changed the O2 Sensor, gave it a full tune up including valve job, replaced a toasted motor mount(boy was this fun without my home tools and hoist), fixed 1 power window, and two door locks, as well as replaced her struts. I've made sure the air pump is still burping away happily, but I'm at a loss. It's purring like a kitten, but I can't figure out why the CEL is on. The nearest toyota dealer to her is about 100 miles away and she doesn't want to drive it that far. The place I rented the tools from didn't have a code scanner, and I've tried a few of her local hick garages but no luck, so I'm stuck.

dood can't you just try to reset the ecu and see if you've fixed the problem? Just a guess. I don't know shit about these motors but it works with Hondas :smile:

Go outside and pop the hood. The left fender there's a diagnostic box. If you pop the top and look underneath, there are pin names. You want to short TE1 and E1. Next, turn the car to ON -- but do NOT start it. Next, it will blink out the codes for you. Match 'em with the list on this site:
