Bad subwoofer??

I have a '92 Explorer Sport and when you turn on the radio, you have this raddle in the trunk area. When you put your hand near the subwoofer it will vibrate. How do I fix or disconnect it?

I have the same problem any help will do me good too.

i had this problem with my 92 EB. the sound that you're hearing is in fact the jbl subwoofer (if you even wanna call that piece of junk a subwoofer). In order to remove/disconnect it you need to remove the panel. there are about three screws under ther edge of the carpet and 3 more along the back (between the glass and the back hatch). you will also need to take out the top bolt to the pass. side rear seat belt and the trim piece that holds the carpet down in the back (about 6-8 screws). After that the only thing that holds the panel on are 3 plastic push pins (i was unable to get them out without breaking them and have never replaced them) after that the panel should move out of the way with a with a little manuvering and cussing. To disconnect the subwoofer if you want to leave it in there but just shut it up just pull the wire harness that plugs into the bottom of the amp (2-4 wires i think) it will cut the signal to it. if you want to take the box out of the truck just disconnect all of the wiring that goes to the amps (should be 2) then look around the edges of the box and remove them. The subwoofer and both amps should come out of the truck as an assembly. I don't know if it is the same for the 98 but this is what i had to do for the 92 hope this helps
