Race Tin help

Im modding a race tin and i need some oppinions:

-is it better to mod a motor or buy a new one? I am trying to put thicker wire into my motor, but the motor seemed to have died.

-where can i get the parts(wheels tires, etc) in toronto canada?

-can conventional hobby tires and wheels fit?
