Can I Put 19x7.5 On My 2000 Civic. My Civic Has Air Bags. Can Someone Just Let Me Know If It Will Work.

:eek7: Why? Is it a show car? 19s on a civic, that would look pretty wild, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to drive that mickey flick. My :2cents:

yes you can. you can put them on dubs even.

seriously though...anything above 17's on a civic should be strictly for show cars only.

JakeDrummer
12-04-2003, 01:09 AM
you can but your car would be slow as hell off the line and stop like crap unless you upgrade to a big brake setup.

the biggest wheel you can go with on a civic are 18's. you have to install rear trailing arms off of an accord if you want 19's or bigger. with bags you might have a little more room, but youd be better off putting different trailing arms onto it. trust me.

19"s? i think its possible. but why go with that size? its too big. plus your ride is going to be bumpy, ride quality wont be that good. the biggest id go with is probably 15"s or 16"s.

I don't want to go past 15, maybe even 16, with my car. 17 for me is strictly for show, and I can't even imagine what 19s would do.

19's, why not 24's?
why would you want 19's on a civic? you won't get anywhere. it's like putting an H22 in a crx

Ok RETARDS! He doesn't want to know whether or not you think he should put 19's on his car, he just wants to know if it's possible. Obviously, if it's bagged, he's not going anywhere fast, so why not do 19's? Let the poor guy do what he wants and just answer the damn question!

Okay Noob, not trying to be mean, but read the 2 posts above me....coming in here and mouthing off to vets, calling us stupid retards, isn't the greatest way to get a warm welcome, to put it mildly. If you want to state something, try to do so in a non-mouthy manner. If you keep up that attitude, I can assure you, help will be hard to find on here once you need it. Being more polite next time wouldn't be a bad idea.

Besides, carefully read the posts above yours....it was said it is possible to do...along with a few suggestions as to what might need to be done to make it work better. His question was answered by about half the responses, so he did get an answer, people just decided to through in their opinion on his idea as well.

My friend just put on 19x7 arospeed rims last week along with the "space ship wannabee" wings west wide body GSR 9 piece kit on his 96-98 civic hatchback. He has not lowered it yet and he has made no modifications to the front and rear arches (fenders). He also has not put on hub spacers yet. From what he has told me, the car rubs against the back rear arches when there are more than 2 people in the car and he has lost full steering turn. It looks pretty wild with the wide body kit, but he says he has to brake very early and its slow as hell to get the car going from a stationary position. So from my recent friends' experience it can be done. Oh i forgot, the car is also his daily driver and he does not intend to enter it in show competitions! :screwy: personally i don't think i could cope with driving a lead weight around to work everyday but he likes the attention  hope this helps

I want some 18s on mine.

I just wish that Civics came with 5 lug wheel mounts because 5 lugs gives you a lot better selection (both in quality and quantity) in custom rims for your car - that's why the Acura RSX's are now 5 lugs - it's about time Honda followed suit.

19s would have some serious rubbing issues, and would probably mess up your camber too, but I suppose it could be done...Ive seen 19s on a few civics.

Incase anyone wants to see what it looks like, i've just come back from taking a few digi shots of my friends civic on 19x7s. There have been no suspension modifications done to at all.

Number one, again, not trying to come off as an ass, but that was just such an easy question and it took like ten million peoples' "opinions" just to get a decent answer. Secondly, I may be new around here, but not in the import scene and definately not on automotive boards, so I'm not looking to make friends, just hopefully some gain some knowledge and see what everyone else has going on with their cars. Number three, I don't need help, so no, I don't have to be nice (although I usually am). Finally, if you (not personally you, but as a board) give stupid and opinionated answers instead of actually helping the person out, then I think that's pretty fucking retarded - In My Opinion.

Who cares about getting a warm welcome from this forum - so far all of the people I've discovered to be Mods are all full of it and critical of any idea that comes from a new poster - which is retarded in itself.

BTW - if any of the mods that I've been catching hell from for merely posting an idea on here were to talk to me like that to my face, you'd be ashamed to smile when I got done with you.

You're a real fucking idiot, you know that? RSX's everywhere in the world outside of the U.S. ARE Hondas, and the CTR had five lugs, not to mention you can swap five lugs from ITR's, CTRs, Aerodecks, Accords etc... onto Civics if you really cared that much.

Check this out from the off topic forum...

I'm 6'2" 270 lbs.

I don't remember who it was that was saying that 18's wouldn't fit on my civic - this thread here just proves how retarded you are (it was either jcrx, or miataracer), because obviously 19s will fit on civics if someone was able to do it on here without modding their car.

I bet you can't honestly bench 200 - a weight that I just surpassed repping. One more thing - only 10% of all people can bench their own weight - and that is a fact - ask any high school P.E. teacher or college athletics person who knows his stuff (a high school P.E. teacher is more likely to know this because they have to - at least in Cali - administer tests for this stuff and report it - or at least they did when I was in high school for my sophomore year)

Dude, I am quite well aware of that, I'm also quite aware that there are several places that sell the control arm and rotors in 5 lug.

Again you need to get off my nuts because I was only criticising honda for not doing it with Civics - which they don't they're still 4 lug wheel mounts.

I'm not clowning on the brands of tires that you've listed, it's just that I'd kill to get some BBS Magnesiums on my Civic - I'm not sure if BBS has any front wheel drive applications though, or if they'd even make them small enough to fit on my Civic - 5 lugs still gives you superior options.

By the way - who's acting like the e-thug now mr. "I can bench more then your weight and I'm 65 lbs lighter" - not that I believe you or care for that matter. I'd still knock your teeth out if you disrespected me like this to my face.

earth to dumbass, BBS has long made magnesium ALLOYS in small sizes and 4-lug patterns. i personally have a set of 14" classic crosshatch pattern BBS magnesium alloys just waiting painted and to get good rubber.

and really, your bench numbers aren't impressive to anyone. if i tell you that i'm 5'6" weigh 185 and rep 215 does it really fucking matter? no.

The 2005 or so CIVIC SI is going to be 5-lug too, but Honda has been "following the suit" for years, just not in America. I really don't understand that.

Look, I understand you are not new to the import sence or borads in general. I understand your not coming on here to make friends. Still though, as someone who's been on this board for awhile, there has been a influx of "newbies" that come in with these attuites, acting like they know all. They then argue generally incorrect information, and end up sparking a flame war. For examples, look no further than the fine gentalmen who posted diectly below your last post in here. This thread has now become a insulting flame fest. And it's not new. There was another thread in the Exterior and Body Kit forums that went the same route once he arrive. He turns everything into an insult about someones mom. Next thing you know, he's insulting everyone. That mod had a right to get on his ass. see for yourself. It's barried in the middle-to-end of the thread.

Anyways, we do help people out, don't get me wrong. But when you have someone coming and asking a stupidly obvious question, they are only bound to get some comments back. There were a few very respected members who had been here for years that left finally because they couldn't take it. Sorry if you thought I was picking on or targeting you. But try to see it from out point of view. Anyways, bascially, you want to come here to share and learn knowlegde you say. Thats cool, thats why most of us enthusisasts are here. Try and understnad, though, one of the reason some of the members mouth off a comment at a stupid easy question is because you see it all the time. It's like, use the search function. Sometimes it gets on your nerves. Anyways, I see you are in the Beaverton, and said you've been into the sence for awhile. Do you ever go to PIR? I'm glad Fred Moved Race Design back out to beaverton...Marine Drive was a bitch to go to get parts, he'll beat almost any price you find...and beaverton is easier to get to.
Anyways, back on topic. Checkout that thread, and check out this thread...

This thread is a great example of the crap we get to deal with from some the "newbies" on a daily basis. I mean look at this guy. It's frustrating, read it. He's was a fricken moron, to put it nicely. There's only some much you can take before you think, screw it and you have to say something say something.
