lately, my car will randomly overheat when driving/idleing. fluid from the resevior is overflowing and fluid won't drain into the radiator. i had this problem before and i replaced the rad. cap and the hose that leads from the bottle to the radiator and it worked fine. that was last year, now i'm having the same problem. this time i'm thinking it could be the water pump. what do u guys think?

make sure the radiater is full first. The rad. cannot suck in antifreeze if there is air in the line. most likly it is not the water pump. A faulty waterpump most times is indicated by a significant loss of coolant. Most likely your getting air in the line somewhere. Check for leaks. It *may* be the headgasket but do the easy stuff first.

also try checking the cooling system. our jeep had an overheating prob, same thing, coolant would overfill from the resavoir. .... replaced head gasket, new radiator, new coolant tank, etc. --- still overheated. went to a guy, he cleaned out the whole cooling system. there was a lot of crud built up..... clean it all out through radiator, pipes, etc and you should be good. be prepared for $300+ to clean it all out.
