94 TA missing when cold

no guys, not missing as in "stolen". I bought a 94 project car that had some issues and I am finally getting around to fixing some of them. The car starts fine when hot or cold. The best way to describe it would be a missing or studdering situation on accelleration when the outside temp is warm and the car starts to warm up. The last few days when the outside air temp has been around 35-40 degrees it is a lot less noticable. Ocassionaly I will smell raw gas upon hard accelleration also. I just wanted to see if someone has has a similar problem and can enlighten me before I pay my hard earned money on a getting it diagnosed at a shop. Thanks in advance...
